Opening Reception: February 15, 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Grant Wood Fellow Jessica Tucker will hold a solo show in the Levitt Gallery, Art Building West. As the current Interdisciplinary Performance Fellow, Tucker's academic home is in Theatre. However, her practice playfully examines how interactions between bodies and media technologies substantiate the shifting dimensions of selfhood and thereby condition experiences of agency and identity. She creates multimedia performances, videos, and installations that restage everyday virtual activities as complex embodiments that reveal and distort our deepest desires.

Through her multimedia practice, Jessica Tucker explores how technology reveals and distorts our shared longing for connection as we struggle with self-commodification, attention manipulation, and surveillance. Tucker's on-campus exhibition, opening Feb. 15 in the Levitt Gallery, will feature sculptures and video works that playfully disrupt the digitally rendered self, bending and re-constellating it in new materials.

Tucker has been a guest lecturer in several School of Art and Art History classrooms and will be the first Interdisciplinary Performance Fellow to host a solo show on campus.
