Printmaking

Currently enrolled in the Printmaking graduate program at the University of Iowa, Jackson Taylor was born and raised in rural Kentucky before receiving his BFA in Printmaking from the University of Louisville in late 2017.  He has exhibited work internationally, participated in several exchange portfolios (notably, David Spencer-Pierce's Retelling Projects), and has worked as an artist assistant at Frogman's Print Workshops.

Jackson's current work combines Silkscreen, Monotype, and Lithographic processes to create multifaceted works that progress and change over time.  As layers of printed matter are applied to the papers surface, a new skin is birthed that holds history of the gestural architecture that was there before.  Utilizing this fashion of working, Taylor weaves together little narratives that concern themselves with memory, mutation, and certain mortality.
