Research Interests

Jacob Lee is currently attending the University of Iowa’s graduate printmaking program.  In 2016 he graduate Magna Cum Laude from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Fine Arts focusing in printmaking.  His artworks have been exhibited both nationally and internationally, most notably at Wharepuck Art Gallery in Kerikeri, New Zealand, Inner Mongolia University in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, China, the Awagami Paper Factory in Tokushima, Japan, El Minia University in El Minia, Egypt, Octane Gallery in Nashville, Tennessee, and Rio Grande Gallery in Austin, Texas.

Jacob's work explores ideas of idolization, identification and human perceptions of tattoo and body art counterculture. These perceptions are evident throughout history and with the overwhelming influx of technology and social media on modern society the opportunity to idolize, identify, and perceive a like-minded audience has only become more obtainable. In his work he expresses his own idolizations and illustrate the groups that he personally identifies with.
