Lonna Huisingh (Keller)

Biography

Lonna Keller received a BFA (with an emphasis in metalsmithing) and a BS in Sociology/Anthropology from Nebraska Wesleyan University.
She received an MFA (with an emphasis in Metalsmithing) from the University of Iowa.

Her artwork has been included in many national and international exhibitions.  A few include: Jewels and Gems, Smithsonian American Art Museum, Renwick Gallery, Washington, DC,  Hanging Around: MAD Necklaces, Museum of Arts and Design, New York, NY, The Edges of Grace: Provocative, Uncommon Craft, Fuller Craft Museum, Brockton MA, Metals Iowa: Making Connections, Russian State Pedagogical University College of Art, St. Petersburg Russia and most recently Wearable Art: A Catalyst for Conversation, The Muckenthaler Cultural Center, Fullerton, CA.

She has been given an Award of Excellence from the American Craft Council, and received grants from the American Craft Council and the Iowa Arts Council.

Her work is in the permanent collections of The Renwick Gallery of the National Museum of American Art, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, DC and the Museum of Arts and Design, New York, NY.

She has also participated in several national juried craft exhibition and sales venues including The American Craft Council shows in Baltimore, MD and St. Paul, MN, as well as the Philadelphia Museum Show.
