Alexis (Lexie) Doerr

Biography

Lexie is pursuing an MFA in Graphic Design with a secondary emphasis in painting. She earned her MA in Art and Art History with a concentration in Critical and Curatorial Studies from the University of Louisville in 2019.

Following her time at UofL, Lexie held the position as Instructor of Art at Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD from 2019-2023. She taught graphic design, art history, digital illustration, and typography courses. She also held the role of Northern Galleries Director from 2019-2022, overseeing on-campus gallery exhibition schedules and ongoing maintenance.

Lexie’s research and work focuses on how the social, economic and physical structures of “place” influence the art-making process and produce localized art styles.
