His Ph.D. research considers the paintings of late nineteenth-century artist Jean Béraud and his interpretations of Parisian life and depictions of women from various social classes. Joe has served as teaching assistant for a variety of courses including: Paris and the Art of Urban Life, City of Rome, Nazi and Stalinist Art, and Cave Paintings to Cathedrals.
