Josh Van Stippen earned his M.F.A. in Ceramics from the University of Iowa in 2014 and his Bachelor’s degree with double majors in Studio Art and Art History from Edgewood College in Madison, Wisconsin in 2009. He currently teaches Ceramics courses at the University of Iowa including hand-building, wheel-throwing, ceramic materials and effects, and a graduate workshop.  His mixed-media artwork explores visual aspects of nanotechnology seen through microscopy images. He has been a resident artist at the Pottery Workshop in Jingdezhen, China and a visiting artist at Oneida Nation Arts Program in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He has exhibited his work at the National Council for Ceramic Arts conference, the Lawton Gallery at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, the Glassel School of Art in Houston, Texas, Northwest Missouri State University, and other venues.
