Sophie likes markers and the way crayon feels on a stone. And when they were a kid, they liked hot bulletins from the xerox machine and the grit on Shell Silverstein books.

Sophie graduated in 2021 with a BA in Studio Arts from Carleton College and has tried to share all the magic they’ve ever found in prints as a resident artist and art teacher at elementary and middle schools.

Their work is about how we hold on to things that don’t want to be held and how time sometimes feels very slippery.
