Undergraduate Program in Studio Art
The studio art program is based on the idea that the philosophical issues of society that are questioned and interpreted by artists are the basis for an artist's work. The diversity of concept and style among School of Art & Art History faculty members encourages students to seek and work toward a keen understanding of themselves as individuals capable of making their own personal statements as part of the philosophical continuum in art's history.
There are two degrees for the undergraduate studio art major. One is the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree. The second is the Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree. Students may apply for the B.F.A. program through a process called "clearance," in which faculty evalute the student's readiness for additional study.
