painting and drawing

Undergraduate degrees include the BA in Studio Art and BFA in Painting or Drawing. A minor in studio art is also available to non-majors.

All course work focuses on the development of the individual student's strengths within a pedagogy that reflects both historical and contemporary theory.

The average class size is 12 to 16 students and undergraduate painting classes are held in the two large, skylit Art Building West (ABW) painting studios.

The painting and drawing areas have a strong visiting artist program.

The undergraduate drawing programs are based in the Visual Arts Building (VAB) complex; painting is based in ABW.
