The Design Studio is a monitored lab space in ABW 130 for students enrolled in Graphic Design courses. The studio is equipped with iMacs, large format printers, Glowforge laser, Graphtec CE7000 and FCX4500 Professional cutting plotters, Maxit Adhesive machine, Carvey 3-D carving machine, RICOH Ri100 Direct-to-garment printer, tabletop printing press, flatbed scanners, tools, and a resource library. The studio sells vinyl, specialty papers, and carving materials. Access to specialized equipment is granted to other disciplines within the School of Art and Art History by appointment or proposal.

Please submit the design studio print form and attach relevant files. If using a personal device, please ensure that you are logged in using eduroam and not UI-Guest. The form is interactive and when submitted will go directly to the Design Studio SAAH-Design@uiowa.edu, along with any file attachments for processing. You will be notified by email as soon as your prints are ready. Prints will be available for pick-up in ABW 130.
Currently enrolled SAAH students are able to borrow technology and gain access to a professional sound design studio. For more information, please visit the SAAH Cheqroom and the Sound Design Studio.
ABW 340 is equipped with a sweep, backdrops, and lighting. Other lighting studios are available by reservation according to discipline. For more information, please review the SAAH Lighting Studio policies.
